1. Teacher reads the passage as the students listen and have them fill in the blanks:

My friend Monika called me on the phone and said that she had a terrible toothache. I told her she should go to the dentist, but she doesn’t want to go. She hates dentists, doctors , and hospitals and things like that because she is afraid. I think she shouldn’t be afraid.
