The simple present is used to talk about things that happen every day, facts, and stories that take place in the present.

infinitive → 3rd person singular (he, she, it): infinitive + -s

Present Progressive/Continuous

The present progressive is used for short-term actions and to talk about what is going on right now.

to be (am, are, is) + infinitive + -ing
