How do you ask for the time? Below are different ways to ask the time to somebody.

We use “at + time” when giving the time of a specific event. We use “It is” or “It’s” to answer a question that asks for the time right now.

Here are some examples on how to tell or ask time in English.

  • What time is it?
  • Do you have the time?
  • What time do you make it?
  • Have you got the time?
  • What’s the time?
  • Have you got the right time?

If the number of minutes is not an exact multiple of five (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30) So we say “minutes past”
